Reporting Redesign

Embarking on completely overhauling all of the client reports was a daunting but ultimately satisfying venture. For the ESG reports, it provided the opportunity for me to engage in an extended UX research phase, where I was able to gather both quantitative survey data, perform heuristic analysis on competitor products, and conduct hour long qualitative user interviews with institutional clients. The result was, after many iterations, a market-leading report redesign based on client needs and feedback, that still met the complicated regulatory requirements for ESG reporting.

User Research and Competitor Analysis

I conducted extensive research in order to understand what the best examples were for ESG reporting, and what key components would be required for this redesign. This definition was enhanced through user interviews, creating a clear set of requirements moving forward.

Persona and Journey Mapping Workshops

The personas and journey maps were developed and refined in stakeholder workshops over several months. After the workshops I drafted designs that went through several ideation sessions with individual stakeholders. Once the designs were approved, I gathered data requirements and worked with our business analyst and IT teams to determine feasibility.

Final Designs

After testing and iterating, the final designs went live and both client managers and our clients were delighted with both the additional data availability and refreshed designs. This project allowed me not just to create new designs for our end clients, but to also refresh the entire process from an internal UX perspective, saving our internal stakeholders months of time preparing these reports manually.
